Logos Development Taps Walker & Dunlop to Raise $400M for Projects on Church-Owned Land

Los Angeles-based Logos Development, under the leadership of Pastor Martin Porter, has engaged Walker & Dunlop as exclusive financial advisor for the capitalization of affordable housing projects on church-owned land throughout urban neighborhoods on the West Coast. The collaboration aims to secure $400 million in debt and equity capital to develop 2,000-plus affordable housing units currently in various stages of being entitled and permitted

Walker & Dunlop’s team is being led by Chris Montes, Los Angeles-based senior director of real estate finance. “Logos Development has a very unique business model,” said Montes. “They are community based and their collaboration with various churches, denominations and nonprofits give them a competitive edge on land site control over many properties, with a low cost to build and most importantly on making a meaningful impact for those who need it most.”

The collaboration involves the development of mixed-income projects including workforce, affordable and social impact housing in underserved areas.
